Keith Bradford for District 1 Representative on

Board of County Commissioners

Hello! my name is Keith Bradford and I am running to be your next County Commissioner of District 1. I am married to my wife, Robin, for almost twenty-four years, we have two daughters. One is about to be a senior in college and another who is a first grader in CMS. I am currently employed at the same company for over 26 years.

Now let me tell you about myself. I grew up in a single family home and my mother worked hard to provide for me and my siblings. There were four of us and we never wanted for anything. I watched how she managed to work, come home and cook dinner, pay the bills and still have time to spend with us. I started working at a very young age; even before I had what was called back then - working papers, my mother would leave us a note on the refrigerator for chores that were to done before she got home from work. She also kept me busy volunteering my services to my neighbors. Whether it was shoveling snow, cutting the grass for the elderly lady across the street, or painting a fence every summer for another, I was the kid that was working while my friends were playing. I know what it means to work hard and have pride in what you do.

Now why am I running for office? I am tired of seeing people making promises to get elected and then change their views once they win. I will never tell you that I am going to do something and not do it, because then the respect you have for me is trashed and you will never come to bat for me on issues that I think are important for this county. County Commissioners wear many hats and everything they decide on affects everyone in some way or another, so you want someone in office that is going to listen to what the people’s needs are and that is who I am.

Will I be able to solve all of your issues and address all of your concerns, not right away and believe me no one can. But I will make sure your voice is heard and at some point we will get to your concerns. Right now I think the most important thing we have to tackle is EDUCATION. We have to get our next generation ready to work so companies will want to move to Mecklenburg County because we have a strong workforce ready to be hired.

That leads into my next agenda item which is ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT we have to prove to companies that Mecklenburg County is the place to move their facility, not only for the beautiful weather and southern hospitality but for the well-trained workforce and housing and quality of life that will entice their workers.
